NBA Rumros: Free Agent Kyle Lowry Now In Talks With Western Conference Contender

Kyle Lowry joined his hometown Philadelphia 76ers midway through last season, and it seemed to be an ideal place to wind down his career, playing alongside an MVP while still competing for another title.

But there hasn't been any agreement yet on a new deal with Philly for the free agent guard, and now it appears that Lowry might be considering joining forces with another former MVP:

According to insider Evan Sidery, the 38-year-old Lowry is likely deciding between returning to Philly or taking on a new challenge in Phoenix with Kevin Durant and the Suns.

The former face of the Toronto Raptors began last season in South Beach, in the third and final year of his contract with the Miami Heat. But he was dealt to the Charlotte Hornets before the trade deadline, who then arranged for a buyout of the veteran guard.

The Suns played last season without a true point guard, with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal being tasked with the duties of the 'one' on most nights, and that situation just didn't work. They've been known to be angling to rectify that this offseason, and just might do so with Lowry.

Lowry has averaged 14.3 points, 6.2 assists, and 36.8% from long range in his 18-year career, along with six All-Star appearances and one NBA championship in Toronto.
