NBA Trade Rumors: Kyle Kuzma Heads to Miami Heat In Proposed Bold Trade

The Miami Heat need another marquee player to get them back into championship contention, so why not a player who has a ring from playing a prime supporting role in upending the Heat in the Finals back in 2020?

Kyle Kuzma is a featured 20-point scorer nowadays, and at the age of 29, just going into the second season of a four-year, $90 million contract, it makes no sense for the rebuilding Washington Wizards to hold on to him.

Kuzma has shown some love for Jimmy Butler, the resident Heat superstar, calling him "a winner," saying in addition to being a superstar, he even does all the little things that role players do as well.

With that in mind, let's get those two together, and for that, we look at a proposed trade offered up by Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report:

Miami Heat Receive:

  • Kyle Kuzma

Washinton Wizards Receive:

  • Tyler Herro

A straight-up one-for-one deal, though Herro comes at a more expensive rate, as he is also entering the second year of a four-year deal, with a $120 million value. Herro is also a 20-point-per-game scorer, but the Heat may be getting frustrated with the 6'5" guard missing about 20-25 games per season on average (40 missed last year).

In Kuzma, Miami gets size (6'10") and more defensive chops, especially on a team that plays defense like we know that an Erik Spoelstra team does.

For the Wizards, they get a player who's five years younger, with Herro just 24 entering next season, and more on the timeline of the rebuilding team. He will replace the 20 points that Kuzma takes out of town, as well as the secondary playmaking. Both players average just over four assists per game.
