Reggie Jackson Gets Bought Out, Signs With Eastern Contender

Reggie Jackson got himself a ring after joining the Denver Nuggets late in the 2022-23 season, and he's ready to chase another one, this time in the Eastern Conference, after getting bought out by the Charlotte Hornets. He will be signing on with the Philadelphia 76ers.

This summer, the Sixers have secured their guard depth behind Tyrese Maxey, re-signing Kyle Lowry and Kelly Oubre Jr. to team-friendly deals, and adding Eric Gordon and now Jackson.

Jackson landed on the Hornets' roster after a July trade from Denver following his picking up the option on his $5.25 million salary for the 2024-25 season. But there was never any intention for him to play in Charlotte, and a buyout has been agreed upon. He now will join his old LA Clippers' teammate Paul George, who also defected to Philly this month in a huge free agent signing.

The 34-year-old Jackson is a playoff-hardened veteran, and has performed there as well, as he averaged 17.8 points on 40% 3-point shooting in the Clippers' 2021 run to the Western Conference finals.
