3 Potential Landing Spots For Fresh New Free Agent Nassir Little

The Phoenix Suns pulled a surprise move on Wednesday, waiving five-year NBA veteran Nassir Little. It means a fresh new face on the free agent market, which has become stagnant here in the dog days of summer.

The 6'5" forward can play some defense with his 7'2" wingspan, and can do a few other things on the floor if given the chance. He was once thought of in high regard as a young player with the Portland Trail Blazers after they made him a first-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft (25th overall).

Let's have a look at three potential landing spots for the tenacious Little as the free agent looks for a new home. They range from contenders, to middle-of-the-road, to rebuilding teams.

Denver Nuggets

He certainly fits the mold of some players the Nuggets have lost over the last couple of summers after their 2023 NBA championship. Bruce Brown and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were a bit older with more experience and accomplishments on their resume than the 24-year-old Little is, but they're all the same size and can play some similar defense while playing a vital role off the bench. With more run, Little could aspire to reach their level and help the Nuggets in a supporting role as they did.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers could use another young player with some untapped potential at the forward spot, where they have backups the likes of 35-year-old Nicolas Batum and 39-year-old PJ Tucker (yes, he's still there).

Brooklyn Nets

Assuming they trade Cameron Johnson, as expected, the Nets will have some depth issues at forward, and as a rebuilding team looking for young players with upside, at a reduced price (Little can be had on the cheap), the Nets could do a lot worse than to take a chance on Little, and give him some concrete playing time to see if he can take his game to the next level.

As for Little, he's confident he'll come back stronger after this.
