Aleksej Pokusevski Makes Huge Decision, Signing 3-Year Deal

Affectionately known as Poku in his short time in the NBA, Serbian beanpole 7-footer Aleksej Pokusevski has officially gone overseas, signing a three-year deal back in his hometown, with Serbian club Partizan Belgrade

Still just 22, Pokusevski made a name for himself with the Oklahoma City Thunder, mainly in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, in the latter of which he got a chance to start 25 games. The 7-foot, 200-pounder has a profoundly unique game, with the length to protect the rim, plus the playmaking skills of a point guard. He can also shoot the three.

He put it all on display on April 3, 2022, when Pokuševski was given a start at point guard for OKC and recorded a memorable triple-double with 17 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in a 117-96 win over the Phoenix Suns. It was a sight to see.

In 150 NBA games, Pokusevski has averaged 7.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and two assists. Let's hope that after sowing his oats in the EuroLeague, playing back in his hometown, he'll want to return to the NBA someday ready to make an even bigger impact.
