New Orleans Pelicans Sign Former Chicago Bulls G/F
Although he played just nine games last season, he made a very good impression to close out the year, and the New Orleans Pelicans, watching from afar, were duly impressed. With that, the Pels have signed five-year veteran guard/forward Javonte Green to fill their final roster spot.

The 31-year-old put up 12.2 points per game in 25.6 minutes a night across nine games to close the 2023-24 season with the Chicago Bulls.
Knee surgery limited him to just 32 games in 2022-23, which left him without any offers as a free agent last summer. The Bulls, with whom he'd played the previous 2½ seasons, brought him back on a 10-day contract late this past season after he served much of the year in the G League.
Just four games into that deal with Chicago, he exploded for a career night, scoring 25 points with 13 rebounds, two steals, one assist and one blocked shot in 33 minutes.
“I guess it’s just a testament to my hard work that I put in this whole year," said Green in reflecting on the game that put him back on the NBA map.
His strong showing through those final nine games of the season in Chicago set him up for this one-year deal with the Pelicans for 2024-25.
Overall, in 122 games with the Bulls, Green averaged 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds while providing good defense and playing a strong up-tempo game.
He provides a nice depth piece for New Orleans.
