Svi Mykhailiuk Signs 4-Year Deal (!) With Western Conference Team

This certainly came out of nowhere. Svi Mykhailiuk, who hasn't had a regular rotation role in the NBA for three years, has signed a four-year, $15 million contract with the Utah Jazz.

The former second-round pick in 2018 spent most of last season with the Boston Celtics, playing just 10 minutes a night, but providing some long-distance shooting when they needed it, hitting about 39% of his shots from beyond the arc. And for his 41 games there, he earned himself a championship ring, even though his playoff contributions were 32 total minutes played and just two three-pointers made.

The 28-year-old wing has also spent time in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Pistons, OKC Thunder, Toronto Raptors, New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets. He carries career marks of 6.3 points per game, while shooting 36.3% from long range in 15 minutes per night.

The Jazz have some roster spots to fill, after recently renouncing the rights to Talen Horton-Tucker and Kira Lewis Jr., while watching Luka Samanic sign with Fenerbahce Beko of the EuroLeague. The six-year veteran out of Ukraine, Mykhailiuk, will fill one of those spots.
