Insider: Knicks' Julius Randle is "Extraordinarily Tradeable"

The New York Knicks had a tremendous finish to the season last year, with the 2nd seed in the East, and a nice little playoff run, on the backs of a dynamic lineup featuring Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo and OG Anunoby. This summer, they've added all-star Mikal Bridges to the mix.

So where does all this leave former leading scorer Julius Randle?

According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst: on the trade block.

Because of that $29 million salary, he’s extraordinarily tradable... And the Knicks still do have a couple of first-round picks that they can move.

Randle has averaged over 24 points per game in three of the last four seasons, and he was an all-star in each of those three campaigns. But he missed the last three months of the 2023-24 season and all of the playoffs due to injury, and the Knicks had no problem thriving without him.

He's had his moments with the faithful at Madison Square Garden, a love/hate relationship, if you will, including giving them the finger, to bringing them out of their seats. The denizens of the world's most famous arena would likely not protest a trade of Randle, with the team they've now constructed.

Randle plus a first-rounder or two could be a trade they could look to, to bring back, perhaps, a front-line center that the team is desperate for.

The scoring/playmaking forward finished last season averaging 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in 46 contests.
