Nassir Little Gets Workouts With Big-Name Teams

After a promising season with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021-22, Nassir Little's fortunes have taken a dip, and he hasn't been able to get much of a foothold as a viable rotation player in the NBA.

He spent last season with the Phoenix Suns, where, in 45 games, he averaged just 10 minutes a night, and a meager 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds.

Little was waived by the Suns last month.

But he's still just 24, and the former first-round pick (25th overall, 2019 NBA Draft), is getting a look-see this fall by a number of notable teams, in workouts ahead of training camp.

The free agent will, according to Keith Smith, get tryouts with the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings.

It would be hard to imagine him cracking the roster of the defending champions, but he'll be going all out in his workouts to try to earn himself another NBA contract.

Little can have an impact on the defensive end, as he brings an energy and a chip on his shoulder to that end of the floor. But for a 6'5" wing to really be impactful, it helps to be a 3-and-D threat. Unfortunately, there's no "3" to be found in Little's game. He shot just 30% from long distance last season, and averages just 33% in his career.
