Paul George Calls Anthony Edwards 'Disrespectful’ and ‘Immature’
Anthony Edwards, while being explosive on the court, has sometimes been known to shoot off his mouth as well, and now nine-time All-Star Paul George is calling him out on it.
Edwards made last week what most will agree was an ignorant comment in talking about the NBA game from back in the day:
They say it was tougher back then than it is now, but I don't think anybody had skill back then. [Michael Jordan] was the only one that really had skill, you know what I mean?
Needless to say, players old and new reacted to call out Ant on his ridiculous comment. Paul George was one of the most vocal:
I thought it was kind of disrespectful to the game. I thought it was a very immature comment. Obviously, Anthony Edwards is super talented and is a huge talent going forward. But, just how much the game has grown and how far – you gotta pay dues to those dudes that did it before us.
PG doesn't go back that far, as he debuted in the league in 2010, but at 34, he's old enough to have seen plenty of games from the '90s era, and he was not too pleased about Edwards's comments.
Neither was Magic Johnson, one of the game's all-time greats, and a pretty skilled player himself from the '80s and '90s. He also responded last week with scorn to Ant's ignorant remark.
"I never respond to a guy who's never won a championship... He didn't win a college championship, I don't even know if he won a high school championship."

“I never respond to a guy that’s never won a championship,” Johnson said. “There’s not nothing to really say. He didn't win a college championship. I don't even know if he won a high school championship."
Edwards helped lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to an unexpected run to the Western Conference Finals last season, but he'll have to go farther than that to quiet his detractors now.
