Report: After Towns Deal, Knicks Next Trade Move Begins to Emerge

The New York Knicks made a huge blockbuster deal on Friday acquiring 4-time All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns. But "the window is still open" for the team to make another huge move, according to insider Kris Pursiainen. And that move, logically, would include their incumbent man in the middle, Mitchell Robinson.

"Sources have told me that Leon Rose and his front office are taking and receiving calls on center Mitchell Robinson," reports Pursiainen.

"They have not shut down the phone lines, so they're still in active conversations with other teams...

"I get the sense, especially with the looming salary wrinkles with Towns, that they're not done making moves."

Robinson, believe it or not, is the longest-tenured Knick at this point. In six seasons with the team, he's averaged 8.0 points and 7.9 boards along with 1.9 blocks per game. He's had plenty of injury issues, however, and hasn't been able to stay in the lineup consistently in three of the last four seasons.

The Knicks have revamped their lineup this offseason with a couple of huge upgrades, also adding Brooklyn Nets star Mikal Bridges, along with Towns, while re-signing OG Anunoby to a massive extension.

New York finished as the 2-seed in the Eastern Conference last season and won a playoff round, and are hoping to make even bigger noise in 2024-25.
