Sacramento Kings Give Workouts to Two Notable Veteran UFAs

The Sacramento Kings are going all-in to get to the next level in the 2024-25 season. After bringing in star forward DeMar DeRozan in a sign-and-trade this summer, they're continuing to look for notable veterans to fill in the gaps around the roster.

To that end, the Kings will be bringing in Jae Crowder and TJ Warren for workouts ahead of training camp.

Warren, now 31, had some breakout years from 2017 through 2020 with the Phoenix Suns, when he averaged close to 20 points per game. But then bad injury luck struck Warren, who sat out nearly two full seasons due to consecutive stress fractures in his left foot

Warren played just 11 games last season in the NBA, with the Minnesota Timberwolves, after the Suns let him go in free agency at the end of the 2022-23 season after an unsuccessful return to the franchise.

Crowder, now 34, was a solid forward at the height of his career, but that was several years ago. Ever since he forced his way out of Phoenix in the summer of 2022, he hasn't been able to carve out a meaningful role for himself in the NBA, spending two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, but having very little impact.

Both players will try to recapture some of their earlier successes as they audition for the Kings in the hopes of catching on with the Western Conference playoff hopeful.
