It's a much-needed veteran voice for the Jazz, who have only one other player over the age of 27 on their roster (Jordan Clarkson, 32). Mills just turned 36, and has a world of playoff experience under his belt, making it to the dance in 13 of his 15 NBA seasons, and sporting a championship ring from his earlier days with the San Antonio Spurs.
Mills was a significant contributor to the Brooklyn Nets just two years ago, averaging 29 minutes a night and starting in over half of the team's games that season. He shot 40% on threes on high volume, the most of his career, at seven attempts per game.
He suffered a dropoff in production and minutes the following season with Brooklyn, and then bounced around between the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat last season, not offering much in the way of any type of rotation minutes.
The Jazz will hope that Mills still has something left in the tank, and can at least provide that respected leadership that he's been known for over the years.
