Warriors Trade Rumors: Golden State Gets Another All-Star In Proposed Zach LaVine Trade

The Golden State Warriors continue to look for another All-Star to team up with Steph Curry to give him another shot at a championship before his window closes. They obviously need to replace the scoring and star power that they lost when Klay Thompson left for the Dallas Mavericks. Buddy Hield will help, but he's no All-Star.

Back in July, it was rumored that the Warriors could have some interest in trading for the Chicago Bulls' Zach LaVine, who has been on the trade block all year long.

Nothing has come of this as yet, but Bleacher Report's Dan Favale has proposed this potential swap that could land LaVine in San Francisco.

    Golden State Warriors Receive

  • Zach LaVine

    Chicago Bulls Receive

  • Kevon Looney
  • Gary Payton II
  • Andrew Wiggins
  • Atlanta's 2026 second-round pick
  • Atlanta's 2028 second-round pick

LaVine can bury it from the outside similar to former Splash Brother Thompson, and he also doesn't dominate the ball, which would mesh well with Steph.

He's averaged 24.2 points a game in his 7 seasons with the Bulls, while shooting at a 38.3% clip from beyond the arc.

And in this proposal, they're able to add LaVine without surrendering their two young future pieces, Jonathan Kuminga and, to a lesser extent, Moses Moody.

For the Bulls, they get another wing player to replace LaVine in Wiggins, and while not the same offensive player, Wiggins, if he's right, can be a solid contributor for Chicago, and he costs $20M less per season than LaVine over the next three years.

This isn't exactly a massive haul for the Bulls, but it's safe to say there are no other teams busting down the doors to trade for LaVine and the $138M remaining on his contract, so in Chicago's case, beggars can't be choosers.
