Breaking: De'Aaron Fox Turns Down $165 Million Extension From Sacramento Kings
Is De'Aaron Fox planning to be a Sacramento King well into the future? He still has two years left on his current deal, but he is turning down a max 3-year, $165 million extension offer from the Sacramento Kings right now, per insider Shams Charania. But not to worry, Kings fans.

Instead, says Charania, Fox is betting on himself, and if he makes the All-NBA team this season, he'll be in line for a whopping 5-year, $345M deal from the Kings next offseason before he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2026.
"Next summer, he will be eligible for a four-year, $229 million max contract," if he doesn't make All-NBA.
But Charania says Fox is still quite happy being a Sacramento King, stating:
This is not a reflection on how Fox feels about the organization. I'm told he has been very engaged with Kings officials and the team... Kings ownership continues to strengthen their relationship with De'Aaron Fox.
The Kings went out and signed free agent DeMar DeRozan this summer to add to Fox and center Domantas Sabonis as the cornerstones.
Last season, Fox, one of the top clutch shooters in the game, averaged a career-high 26.6 points with 5.6 assists and a league-leading 2.0 steals per game while playing another personal best 35.9 minutes per game.
