Former 1st Rounder Tony Snell Another Step Closer to NBA Return
Tony Snell has been fighting to get another chance in the NBA for a couple of years as the 9-year veteran needs one more season to reach the 10-year benchmark which would make him eligible for the player's union's premium medical plan. He says he needs it for his two-year-old and three-year-old who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum.
Snell has gotten himself one step closer, as he's signed on with the Miami Heat's G League team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Snell, now 33, had some excellent defensive seasons in his first few years in the NBA, able to guard twos, threes and fours on the perimeter.
But his goal now is more than just providing defense. It's providing for his children.
"Of course, I want to come back and play, but I have a bigger purpose now. It's not about me anymore. It's about my boys," Snell told Yahoo Sports back in August.
In 601 NBA games over nine seasons, Snell, the former 20th overall pick in the 2013 Draft, has averaged 6.1 points and 2.3 boards in 21.8 minutes per night.
We'll see if he can grab the attention of the Heat while in their organization.
