Former All-Rookie Team Member Terence Davis Finds New NBA Home

After a five-year career in the NBA, shooting guard Terence Davis landed in the G League for 2023-24, as no team was interested in his services. Now, however, he's being given a shot by the Milwaukee Bucks, on an Exhibit 10 training camp deal.

Davis had a nice first season north of the border, making the NBA's All-Rookie Second Team in 2019-20 and finishing 6th in Rookie of the Year balloting. He averaged 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.

But Davis wore out his welcome with the Toronto Raptors after facing domestic assault charges in 2021, so they shipped him off to the Sacramento Kings, where he spent some time as a decent bench piece, averaging over 10 points a game in his first year and a half there. But his production took a big dip in 2022-23, and they placed him on waivers.

The 27-year-old spent last season playing a handful of games in the G League with the Rip City Remix before suffering ruptured Achilles in mid-January.

He'll get a chance to show his stuff at Bucks training camp, though it's likely he'll have to earn his way up from a G League stint once again. He's admitted that he had a chance at a nice bag overseas, but didn't want to uproot his young family, as he told Hoops Hype:

“I think only a few people know this: I turned down a good amount of money to play overseas in Greece, in the Euroleague. I said no, as I want to get back in the NBA and to stay in, you have to play in the G League.”
