Raptors Pick Up Contract Options On Two Lottery Picks

The Toronto Raptors season is going just about the way you'd expect it to be going so far... Not so well. But two young players who have found themselves big roles in the team's rotation thus far have been rewarded with contracts for next season.

The Raptors have exercised the team options for next season on Grady Dick and Ochai Agbaji's rookie contracts.

Dick had a career-high 25 points on 9-16 shooting from the field and 4-9 from three-point range over the weekend in the Raptors' loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In four games this season, he's averaging 16 points, doubling his output from his rookie year. He's showing why the Raps made him a lottery pick (13th overall) in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Agbaji came over at the trade deadline last season from the Utah Jazz, and has earned himself a solid spot in the rotation thus far this year, averaging over 27 minutes a game, with 12.3 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 45.5% from long range.

The 6'5" shooting guard was a lottery pick (14th overall) by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2022 NBA Draft. The Raptors are hoping he can become a solid 3-and-D man in the backcourt.
