Shams Drops Update On Injured Steph Curry's Timeline for Return
If there's one player that any team simply cannot afford to lose this season, it's hard to argue against the Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry. With the two-time MVP now out with an ankle problem, as reported earlier this week, all Warriors fans are constantly refreshing their social media accounts to find out the latest on Curry's status.
Insider Shams Charania has now given us the latest, as of Tuesday evening:
“Around him the sense is this could be an injury that goes about a week, and that would put him at early next week, maybe two weeks.”

Charania says that Curry is dealing with a peroneal strain, which is inflammation or irritation of the tendons that run along the outside of the ankle and foot. He says he has some swelling and pain right now, and will have to get mobility back in the foot. But "the good news is," says Shams, "there's nothing major here, there's no major damage to that ankle or that foot."
He'll be re-evaluated on Friday, but for now, Shams says that “Around him, the sense is this could be an injury that goes about a week, and that would put him at early next week, maybe two weeks.”
That would certainly be a great scenario for the Dubs, who can remember the times earlier in his career that Curry missed much longer periods with constant ankle sprain issues.
"They're going to be cautious, it's still very early in the season. You don't want to rush Steph Curry back on the floor."
Golden State is currently 2-1 on the young season.
