Dwight Howard Thinks He'd Be a Perfect Fit for One Specific Contending Team
This is his third straight season without a job in the NBA, but former 8-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard is still pitching his services for a return to the Association. This time, he thinks the Oklahoma City Thunder could use him.

"OKC, Ya Boy is ready," said Howard on a podcast this week. "Y'all need a big! Y'all need a vet. Y'all need somebody that's gonna bring some energy! I ain't got nothin' to do neither. I just got finished dancin'!"
On one hand, he has somewhat of a point, as the Thunder recently lost starting center and super sophomore Chet Holmgren for an extended period, and haven't yet gotten a game out of their big offseason free agent signing Isaiah Hartenstein (though he is thought to be ready for his debut in the next couple of weeks).
Howard also pointed out that he won a championship with a current member of the Thunder, Alex Caruso, when both were with the 2020 LA Lakers for the 'Bubble' title.
"I'd go to OKC right now!"
The two big questions after hearing that are (a) is OKC interested in bringing that into their locker room?, and (b) was Howard just joking around — pulling on Superman's cape, so to speak.
D-12 last played in the NBA on a return engagement with the Lakers in 2021-22. He has career marks of 15.7 points and 11.8 boards over 18 seasons.
