Joel Embiid Lashes Out at "Piece of S***" Who Leaked Private Meeting Details

The Philadelphia 76ers are disintegrating before our eyes. The team, which was supposed to be a title contender, particularly after the acquisition of Paul George in the offseason, is 2-12 and in dead last in the entire NBA.

To add insult to injury this week, their dirty laundry is now getting aired in public.

After it was reported on Tuesday that in a private team meeting, star guard Tyrese Maxey called out former MVP Joel Embiid for not setting the right example with things like being on time to team events and practices, Embiid has come out guns a-blazing.

But not at his teammate Maxey. Rather at whoever it was that leaked the details of that private meeting.

Whoever leaked that is a real piece of [sh**]. We talked about a lot of things [during the meeting]. I don’t want to get into the details, but that whole thing [with Maxey] probably took 30 seconds. But then again, it’s Joel Embiid, so we’ve got to make everything blown out of proportion. It’s whatever. I’ll take it all. I’m the reason for everything, so I’ll take the blame for everything.

Embiid insists his relationship with Maxey is fine, and he doesn't mind being called out, and admits he needs to be better.

But it's all the cynicism getting out there that really pisses him off.

"It’s unbelievable. It just feels like negativity keeps following us, which I don’t understand why. But it is a shame, but it doesn’t change the fact that we’ve still all got to be better.”

That's an understatement. The Sixers are currently given only a 1% chance of making the playoffs, per Basketball Reference
