Insider Names 3 Top Miami Heat Trade Candidates

The Miami Heat are 9-9, and in 6th spot in the Eastern Conference, but they aren't considered a serious title contender at this point, and moves will need to be made.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype has noted that there are three notable assets that the Heat are willing to put on the table in trades.

Butler, of course, is the biggest name. A superstar who has taken this Heat team to the NBA Finals twice since 2020. He had a number of big-name suitors in the offseason, including the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. Now, other teams are keeping an eye on him.

"Within league circles," writes Scotto, "there’s been quiet discourse about whether the Houston Rockets or Dallas Mavericks will eventually land Butler, a Texas native, should he and Miami decide to part ways."

As for Rozier, he's recently been taken out of the starting lineup as his play has not been up to snuff this season. His 13.8 points per game is the lowest it's been since 2018-19. He has one more season after this one with a salary of $25 million.

But the other huge trade asset the Heat are willing to discuss doesn't currently wear a Miami uniform. It's their collection of first-round picks.

They'll be an intriguing team to watch as we get closer to the trade deadline just two months from now. Do they go all-in, or try to move on from Butler and re-set the program?
