NBA Trade Rumors: Zach LaVine Lands in Denver in Proposed Trade
After going through the summer (and last season) without any interest in him on the trade market, Zach LaVine is now the No. 1 target of the wannabe championship-contending Denver Nuggets.
LaVine has come back healthy this season and is performing at his previous high-scoring levels, making the remaining two years on his burdensome contract a little less onerous.
With that, Dan Favale of Bleacher Report has proposed this trade that's been making the rounds as a deal that would get LaVine to the Mile High City to team up with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
Denver Nuggets Receive:
- Zach LaVine
Chicago Bulls Receive:
- Michael Porter Jr.
- Zeke Nnaji
LaVine would take some of the scoring pressure off Jokic and Murray for Denver, and is able to create his own shot much more than Porter Jr. currently does.
In Chicago, Porter Jr. can make up a large part of the scoring that LaVine provided, just in a different way. He'd have plenty of ball distributors to set him up, as well, in Josh Giddey, Lonzo Ball and Coby White. Porter can also certainly provide more defense than LaVine, and is three years younger. He has plenty of cash left on his contract as well, at nearly $80M over two more years.
The three years and $23.2 million left on Nnaji's contract could be a bit of an issue for the Bulls, but at 24, he could still develop into a decent piece.
Is this the answer to get the Nuggets back to the promised land? Who says no to this deal?
