One Contender Taking “Significant” Swing at Zach LaVine Trade

We've been led to believe that the trade market for Zach LaVine has been pretty tepid since the Chicago Bulls first put him out there over a year ago.

But it seems that cold reception to taking on LaVine has thawed out a bit as he proves he's healthy this season and has been scoring and shooting at his previous levels.

Per Sam Amick and Tony Jones in The Athletic, one contender that is now said to be taking a "significant" swing at adding LaVine is the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets are canvassing the league in pursuit of a player who can offer significant help offensively, league sources tell The Athletic

League sources say the focus on LaVine in recent discussions is significant, with the Nuggets interested in the 29-year-old who is averaging 21.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season. LaVine, a two-time All-Star, is owed $43 million this season, $45.9 million next season and has a player option worth $48.9 million for the 2026-27 campaign.

With only 2+ years to run on that mammoth five-year contract, LaVine is apparently becoming more palatable for teams looking for a big offensive boost. For a team like Denver, it could make them a championship contender once again.

Michael Porter Jr. would likely be moving out in a trade such as this, according to Amick & Jones' sources.

But despite the real interest in LaVine, the Nuggets do have other notable scorers on their radar as well, if they can't work out a deal with the Bulls.

The report tells us that Denver has also had trade discussions with the Washington Wizards on Jordan Poole, the Utah Jazz on Jordan Clarkson, the Atlanta Hawks on De’Andre Hunter, and the Brooklyn Nets on Cam Johnson.
