Breaking: De’Aaron Fox Trade is On The Table
There was some thought earlier this season that De'Aaron Fox may want out of Sacramento if the team didn't propel itself into a contender. Now, Shams Charania is reporting that the Kings are expected to open up trade talks on the All-star point guard, in advance of the trade deadline which is just 10 days away.
JUST IN: The Sacramento Kings are expected to open up talks to potentially deal All-Star De'Aaron Fox ahead of Feb. 6 trade deadline, sources tell ESPN. There will be plenty of suitors, but it's believed that Fox has a target destination in mind ahead of 2026 free agency. pic.twitter.com/Oh3fXgZjm3

Per Sam Amico, De'Aaron Fox's agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, recently sent word that it would be wise for the Kings to move him now, leading to this new report.
Fox has one season left on his contract, which will pay him $37 million next year. But as Charania notes, "it's believed that Fox has a target destination in mind ahead of 2026 free agency." But LA Lakers fans: don't get your hopes up.

Yes, Charania has already dropped the news that the Lakers "are not a destination of choice for De'Aaron Fox.”
Fox was not interested in an extension with the Kings before the season, one that could have paid him three years and $165 million. By waiting, if he makes All-NBA, he will be eligible for a supermax deal of five years, $345 million.
With the Jimmy Butler drama still playing out in Miami, one can expect the Heat to try to get a deal done to send their disgruntled, disruptive and suspended star to Sacramento in order to land Fox.
