Breaking: Miami Heat Make Big Decision on Jimmy Butler

The gloves are off in Miami. Jimmy Butler showed up for their last game wearing Phoenix Suns colors on his shoes, and the team has now been forced to once again show him who's boss, by suspending him for another two games.

He's played only three times since his 7-game suspension that they levied when this all began to blow up right after New Year's. In the loss to the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night, Butler showed his desire to be traded to Phoenix by wearing sneakers that sported Suns' colors, then he went out and posted a minus-19 in another lackluster effort.

He then missed a team flight on Wednesday, the last straw in prompting the latest suspension.

All this might be a moot point, however, as it appears, from all accounts, that a trade could go down this weekend.

Vince Goodwill of Yahoo Sports says, “There have been whispers of the Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors getting involved as well, but it seems the momentum is geared toward this getting done soon, perhaps in the next few days. Detroit and Charlotte could operate as facilitators for a large deal, too, sources told Yahoo Sports.”

The Suns acquired three first-round picks in a deal on Tuesday, which is an obvious precursor to the next move.

It appears that Phoenix is certainly his destination, while Bradley Beal and his albatross of a contract could wind up with one of the aforementioned teams if he agrees to waive his no-trade clause. Interestingly, Beal has been pulled from the Phoenix lineup for Wednesday night's game, claiming he has "ankle soreness".

The Suns currently sit at 21-21, tied for 10th spot and the final Play-In position in the Western Conference. So how much would Butler's arrival in Phoenix improve their chances this season? We'll leave that to this astute fan:
