Jimmy Butler Suspended For THIRD TIME

Here we go again. The situation between Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat has reached the breaking point, as the team has suspended him for the third time in the last month, this time for walking out on a shootaround. And this time it's for an "indefinite period."

"[We] are suspending Jimmy Butler without pay effective immediately for an indefinite period to last no fewer than five games," reads the team statement.

"The suspension is due to a continued pattern of disregard of team rules, engaging in conduct detrimental to the team and intentionally withholding services. This includes walking out of practice earlier today."

Butler was first suspended for seven games a month ago after his trade demand emerged, then after a three-game return in which he averaged just 13 points a game, he was suspended again for two games, and that has now been extended with this new indefinite suspension.

The "no fewer than five games" is a notable length stipulated by the team, as that is exactly how many games the Heat have left before the Feb. 6th trade deadline.

It is quite likely that Butler has played his last game for the Heat.

In fact, Butler just posted this on Instagram:

Yes, it certainly appears that Jimmy "ain't got no job" as far as the Miami Heat are concerned. Where he will be plying his trade after February 6th is anybody's guess, though the Phoenix Suns certainly seem like the frontrunner—IF they can get Bradley Beal to waive his no-trade clause.
