Raptors Trade Rumors: 4 Teams Interested in Bruce Brown

The Toronto Raptors are on a roll, riding a five-game win streak down the stretch to the trade deadline next week. One of their top trade candidates is also on a roll, as Bruce Brown has averaged nearly 13 points and six rebounds while shooting 38.5% from long range over his last five games.

And with that, interest in the former championship role player has skyrocketed lately, now with four teams noted as suitors.

  • Miami Heat
  • Los Angeles Lakers
  • Detroit Pistons
  • Minnesota Timberwolves
Interestingly, none of these teams are title contenders, but nevertheless look at Brown as a good rotation piece.

As noted by Evan Sidery, however, Brown's expiring $23 million contract will be a tough one to match in a trade. A nice draft pick will have to be included if a rival team hopes to dump off a bad contract on the Raptors to acquire Brown.

The 28-year-old was a key cog off the bench for the Denver Nuggets in 2022-23, helping the team to the NBA championship. He parlayed that into a huge two-year, $46 million free agent contract that summer with the Indiana Pacers.

Brown was traded to Toronto, however, midway through his first season in the Hoosier State, as part of the Pascal Siakam trade. The Raptors showcased him, playing over 26 minutes a game through the rest of the year, hoping to flip him either at the deadline, or before the Draft. But nothing transpired.

Injuries derailed his season (and his trade value) earlier this year, but he's back and being productive, making a trade possible once again.
