Top 3 Suitors For Cam Johnson As Nets' Trade Ask Soars

Cam Johnson is one of the top trade pieces as we approach the Feb. 6th deadline, and the Brooklyn Nets' price tag for him soars.

The Nets are now said to be asking two first-round picks for the high-scoring power forward, or the equivalent.

With that, let's take a look at the top 3 suitors for Johnson:

Cleveland Cavaliers

As reported by The Athletic's Joe Vardon, serious trade talks have been ongoing between the Cavs and the Nets. Cleveland has been at a constant disadvantage in size and physicality on the perimeter, notes Vardon, and they'd be hoping that the 6-foot-8 Johnson could help solve that.

"The franchise has done its due diligence in inquiring about the availability of Johnson," writes Vardon. "Rival team officials, however, believe the Cavs’ interest to be more serious than that.

Sacramento Kings

Insider Jake Fischer says in the latest Stein Line that the Kings could be favorites to land Johnson. "The executive told me that the likely framework of a future first-round pick packaged with the contracts of Kevin Huerter and Trey Lyles is regarded by some as the benchmark to beat to try to convince the Nets to surrender Johnson in the next 19 days," said Fischer.

Indiana Pacers

Another team that Fischer touts as a Johnson suitor, the Pacers have come to life of late, winners of 15 of their last 20 games. But adding another star power forward to join Pascal Siakam would be a huge get. Johnson is averaging a career-high 19.6 points while hitting on 42.8% from the three-point line. He has two more years under contract at a $21M AAV.
