3 Free-Agent Destinations for Patrick Beverley, Back In the U.S.

Patrick Beverley really enjoyed his time playing in Israel for the past several months, but the two sides have agreed to mutually part ways, and Beverley is heading back to North America.

PatBev's time in Israel ended due to some typical PatBev behavior. According to BasketNews, "Beverley had some disagreements with coach Dimitris Itoudis recently, being suspended by the team for mocking the coach on social media. He didn't play a single game after the incident."

Beverley played 14 EuroCup games with Hapoel Tel Aviv, and averaged 10.7 points, with 4.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.4 steals in 24 minutes per game. In nine league games in Israel, he averaged 9.4 points, 3.3 boards and 3.1 dimes, while shooting 40.5% from three-point range.

With Beverley back in the States, let's have a look at three free agent destinations for the feisty guard:

Phoenix Suns

If PatBev had his druthers, it sounds like this is where he would eventually sign. He even said so himself, not long ago.

"I've played with a bunch of superstars, right, and I would like to see how Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and KD (Kevin Durant), how they prepare."

That could be awkward, however, as Suns fans don't have pleasant memories of Beverley, after his shoving match with Chris Paul in the 2021 playoffs.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Of all of his recent teams, Beverley had the most success and the most impact when he was with the T-Wolves, helping lead the team back to the playoffs in 2022. His regular season marks of 9.2 points and 4.6 assists went up in the playoffs, as did his minutes. Perhaps an injection of PatBev is exactly what Minny needs to rejuvenate their push for the playoffs.

Milwaukee Bucks

The last team Beverley played with in the NBA was Milwaukee in 2023-24. And while his production in the regular season was a bit tempered in his 26 games there, playing just 20 minutes a night and scoring 6.0 points per game, he was a beast in the playoffs, when he upped his playing time to a career-best 35 minutes a night, with 8.2 points and a career best 5.5 assists. The Bucks could use Beverley's tenacious play on the defensive end.

In his 12-year NBA career, Beverley has averaged 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while playing for 7 teams, including the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee BucksPhiladelphia 76ers, and Chicago Bulls.
