It's a long way to fall for the former three-time All-Defensive Team guard, who the Boston Celtics traded in a deal that got them Kristaps Porzingis.
Painful end to what passes for the Marcus Smart era in Memphis. Traded two firsts to get him, one to get off of him. Also, yeah the Grizz have too many rotation guys already, but LaRavia was solid this season. Makes a lot of nitty-gritty winning plays. Should make the Kings…

It was an injury-riddled two years in Memphis for Smart, who played just 39 games for them, while missing 94 games.
As noted by Zach Lowe, the Grizzlies had to include a first-rounder to get off Smart's contract, after trading another two firsts just to land him in the first place.
He still has another year to run on his contract at $21.5 million.
