Breaking: Stunning Announcement From Spurs on Victor Wembanyama

A brutal announcement from the San Antonio Spurs about their young phenom Victor Wembanyama. A blood clot in his right shoulder will force him to miss the rest of the season.

The medical term is deep vein thrombosis, a serious condition that usually occurs in the legs. Wembanyama will need to have this dealt with immediately.

According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Wemby had experienced low energy lately that was cause for concern among Spurs doctors.

When that persisted through the All-Star weekend, and into his two-day break afterwards, they put him through tests that ultimately uncovered the diagnosis. The Spurs are "very confident he'll be healthy and ready at the start of next season". They believe that it's an isolated blood clot.

As noted by sports doctor Jeff Stotts, Brandon Ingram also had this condition in his shoulder back in 2018-19, and was also forced to miss the rest of the season. He came back strong the following year, and in fact, was named the NBA's Most Improved Player in 2019-20.

Wemby was averaging 24.3 points, 11 rebounds and 3.8 blocks this season, making his first All-Star game.

The Spurs recently made a huge trade for De'Aaron Fox, to team up the star point guard with the super sophomore. That dynamic duo will now have to wait until next season to resume their partnership.
