Breaking Trade: Cavaliers Acquire De'Andre Hunter From Hawks

The Cleveland Cavaliers have solidified their status as perhaps the favorite to come out of the Eastern Conference, by adding De'Andre Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks, while sending Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks and two swaps to Atlanta.

The Cavs wanted to hang on to Okoro, and they were able to make this deal without losing him.

Hunter, 27, is having a career-best season with the Hawks, averaging 19.0 points, while shooting 39.3% from beyond the arc, both personal bests. His final game with the Hawks saw him drain 6-of-11 on threes, with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

He has two more years to run on his contract with a $24M AAV over that time.

The Cavs' interest in Hunter goes back to his draft year in 2019, when he was the 4th overall pick.
