Draymond Green Makes Bold Statement About Warriors with Jimmy Butler
Since (Butler)’s been here, we’ve walked into every game thinking and believing that we’re going to win that game. And that goes a long way in this league. When you walk in the game like, ‘Ah man, we’re probably gonna lose this game,’ it’s not good. He’s brought back that belief. And I think we’re going to win the championship.
I’m sorry, I said, ‘I think we’re going to win the championship,’ but I lied. We are going to win the championship.
They've gone 3-1 with Butler and moved into a Play-In spot, just 3.5 games out of a guaranteed playoff spot of 6th in the Western Conference.
Butler has averaged 21.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists in his four games, and has given the Dubs a whole new dimension, at both ends of the court.
Green made a similar proclamation to Sam Amick in the Athletic, that he feels they will "absolutely" win the title.
The oddsmakers currently don't agree, however, with the Warriors currently ranked 11th among teams in the title chase, at +5,000, per BetMGM, updated after the trade deadline.
The Warriors are 28-27, tied with the Sacramento Kings for the 9th/10th seed in the West.
Butler took the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals twice in four years, from 2020 through 2023, only to come up short.
Steph Curry, Draymond and the Dubs have won four of the last 10 NBA championships.
