Insider: Warriors Now Trying to Acquire LeBron James & Kevin Durant
Now that their attempt to acquire Jimmy Butler has hit a brick wall, the Golden State Warriors are apparently trying to put the ultimate super team together (for the 35+ crowd), by setting their sights on adding both LeBron James and Kevin Durant to the Steph Curry-led team.
Several people within the Warriors’ front office have dreams of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry all teaming up together on the Golden State Warriors, per @JakeLFischer

“Sources say the most ambitious idea being tossed around among Golden State's decision-makers: Is there any feasible pathway for the Warriors to pull off the dreamiest of outcomes and find a way to bring both James and Durant to The Bay?," writes insider Jake Fischer on The Stein Line newsletter.
This isn't the first time either of those icons have been tied to the Warriors. Durant, of course, played with Curry and the Dubs for three seasons, winning two titles. James has been linked to Curry as a potential duo ever since they became fast friends at last summer's Olympics.
Now, with the LA Lakers' shocking trade for Luka Doncic to be their face of the franchise for the future, some are wondering if LeBron would consider a move. The Warriors have reached out once again to see if they might be able to obtain him. They did the same at last season's deadline as well.
LeBron has a full no-trade clause, so that move would be only up to him.
As for Durant, he left the Warriors (surprisingly to many) as a free agent after the 2019 Finals loss to the Toronto Raptors. Would he want a reunion with Steph and Draymond Green?
Fischer says that the Suns "are believed to be listening at the very least to various teams' pitches for the 35-year-old scoring legend."
It's another intriguing situation to watch as we head into the final few days before Thursday's trade deadline.
