The Lakers have made some other trade moves, addressing perimeter defense and the like, but they're still in need of a big to provide defense around the rim. Capela would be an ideal fit.
The Hawks were looking to move on from the expiring contract of Capela, but will need a replacement at center. Nurkic would fill the void down low. Atlanta also needs to replace their rising star Jalen Johnson who went down for the season this past week, and Hachimura would be more than a stop-gap.
For the Suns, this isn't the Jimmy Butler deal they're also trying to pull off, but it gives them another solid shooter in Bogdanovic, plus some cap relief as they unload Nurkic, who has completely fallen out of favor in Phoenix.
As for the rebuilding Wiz, they'll be able to take a shot on some young players, to see if they're worth hanging onto.
