Report: Jimmy Butler Turns Down Golden State Warriors
It took some serious internal machinations for the Golden State Warriors to convince themselves to actually try to legitimately acquire Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. But now that the team has finally come around, Butler has put the kibosh on it.
According to reports, Butler refused to agree to sign an extension with the Warriors if he is dealt there, thus bringing an end to the talks.

Butler's options are quickly dwindling, as the Phoenix Suns, his preferred destination all along, are also slipping away, as Bradley Beal—the $50M contract they'd have to move in order to bring in Butler—is not interested in heading elsewhere, saying he doesn't want to uproot his family again. Beal has a full no-trade clause.
The Heat have two games left before Thursday's 3:00pm ET trade deadline, and sources don't expect Butler to play in either one of them, as he is currently on an indefinite suspension.
The controversial star is expected to opt out of the $52 million final year of his contract this summer, making him an unrestricted free agent. Miami's unwillingness to pony up a massive extension for the 35-year-old is what Butler sees as the catalyst for the current drama, while the Heat are more inclined to suggest that Butler's actions over the past year or more which have alienated him further and further from his teammates, is the more pressing concern.
