Top 3 Favorites to Land Naz Reid In Free Agency
Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid is having another excellent season as the first man off the bench for head coach Chris Finch. He's even upped his production from his Sixth Man award-winning season last year. Reid has a $15 million player option in the final year of his deal for 2025-26, and according to insider Jake Fischer, Reid will be declining that.
“Strategists expect he’ll decline (his option) in search of a richer arrangement in the summer,” writes Fischer in The Stein Line.
It makes sense, as he's averaging career highs across the board, with 14.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 27 minutes per night. He'll be in for a nice raise.
And when Reid does make his way onto the open market, oddsmakers are predicting that the San Antonio Spurs are the team to beat.

San Antonio Spurs +400
Cleveland Cavaliers +700
Dallas Mavericks +700
Brooklyn Nets +1500
New York Knicks +1500
New Orleans Pelicans +1500 https://t.co/ie3a0TyJwZ pic.twitter.com/D6S2T6Ljzy
According to online bookmakers Bovada, the Spurs are the favorites at +400 to land Reid in free agency. The team's big man depth is seriously challenged with Victor Wembanyama out for the rest of the season with his blood clot issue. They've been forced to start journeyman Bismack Biyombo at the five, and won't want to be in that situation, again, if it comes to that, next season.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (+700) have a pretty good twin big arrangement of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, but do fall off a bit at the pivot after that, and adding Reid would give them a devastating three-man big man rotation.
The Dallas Mavericks are tied with Cleveland at +700 as the second and third favorites for Reid. And the answer there is obvious. With the oft-injured Anthony Davis as their starting center, they better have a legit backup to fill the void for the inevitable big chunk of time AD spends in street clothes.
