In return, Quentin Grimes and a 2025 second-round pick head to Philly.
With that deal, insider Evan Sidery suggests, "the retool is on for the Sixers." He also notes that rival teams believe that Guerschon Yabusele could be moved to a contending team for the right price. Yabusele is having a resurgent season in his return to the NBA after a five-year absence.
As for Martin in Dallas, he brings averages of 9.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists this season with a 37.9% mark from three-point range. He spaces the floor from three and can do some damage in transition. He's also signed at a very reasonable price for three more seasons ($9M AAV).
The Mavericks lost a three-point shooter (among all his other skills) when they pulled off the stunning Luka Doncic trade to the Lakers for Anthony Davis.
