Bradley Beal Makes Shocking Admission on His Future

Bradley Beal, the Phoenix Suns' $250 million man, with the most untradeable contract in the NBA, refused to waive his no-trade clause last month at the deadline when the Suns tried to trade him anyway, putting the kibosh on their attempts to trade for Jimmy Butler. The Golden State Warriors were the benefactors of Beal's unwillingness to move, as Butler has transformed them into contenders once again.

But knowing that he's not wanted in Phoenix, "feeling disrespected" as Beal now puts it, would he reconsider a relocation out of the Valley of the Sun? Shockingly, he hinted to ESPN that he would be open to a trade in the summer.

It is a different deal in the summer. Everything is kind of more laid out on the table. You got more options.

That's as close to Beal admitting he'll accept a trade as we'll get, for now. Especially after this comment he made in the same interview, which some would say is rubbing it in the face of Suns fans and management:

“I’m still playing in the NBA, I still have the best job in the world, and I still have my no-trade clause. So I’m smiling every day.”

Yes, Beal holds all the cards—holding the Suns hostage, some would say—and still has another $110M coming his way over the next two seasons.

The way that quote came across has many in the Phoenix area fuming.

Since coming to the Suns before last season, Beal has played 53 games last year, and now just 46 thus far in the 2024-25 campaign.

So just the very idea that he's even considering a trade this offseason should be music to Suns' fans' ears.

Even with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, Phoenix is currently 30-36, in the 11th seed in the Western Conference, 2.5 games back of the Play-In, having lost 11 of their last 15 games.
