MRI Comes In on Steph Curry; Warriors Superstar To Miss Some Time
The Golden State Warriors held their breath today as franchise icon Steph Curry had an MRI on his pelvic area after a hard fall under the basket in a game against the Toronto Raptors Thursday night. The news is on, and the word is as good as the Warriors could have hoped:

Curry has a contusion but no structural damage, reports Shams Charania. He will receive treatment and be out for at least the start of the Dubs' six-game road trip that begins on Saturday.
The superstar landed with a thud after dishing the ball out in traffic and bumping with a defender going down hard. You can actually hear his body crunching with the floor on the video:

"Curry is in major distress," was the call from Bob Fitzgerald on the broadcast. The star guard gingerly walked to the Warriors' locker room and would not return.
Golden State has been red-hot since acquiring Jimmy Butler in a big trade deadline deal, going 16-2 with Butler in the lineup and moving all the way up from flirting with a Play-In spot or no playoff spot at all, to a solid 6th seed in the Western Conference, and within striking distance of a few teams ahead of them. Losing Curry for any length of time would obviously be a problem.
The two-time MVP and 11-time All-Star has a career 24.7 points per game mark and holds the all-time NBA records for career three-pointers made per game (3.9) and attempted (9.3), as well as free throw percentage (91.1%). This season, he's averaged 24.2 points per game along with 6.0 assists while shooting 39.4% from beyond the arc.
