Breaking: LA Lakers Hand Out Huge Contract Extension

So what happens when the greatest trade in NBA history falls into your lap? As we found out today, you get yourself a nice big contract extension and a promotion. That's the announcement from the LA Lakers today on GM Rob Pelinka.

Shams Charania revealed today that not only does Pelinka get himself a new extension, but also a new title as president of basketball operations to go along with his general manager tag.

Pelinka has set up the team for the long term, after landing (or should we say, 'he was handed') superstar Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers are 18-10 in the 28 games that Luka has played in Purple & Gold, and he's averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists.

They go into the playoffs this weekend as the 3-seed in the Western Conference, hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves.
